Scary!

At 3:30 this morning neither Lidia nor I could sleep, so we both ended up meandering downstairs, sitting in the dark (with tv on), hoping it would put us back to sleep.  We were occasionally whispering when all of a sudden we heard a loud bang, we both knew immediately it was a gunshot!  I jumped up and started to head towards the stairs to run up and look out my bedroom window, we could tell the direction it came from, when all of a sudden, BANG!, another one.  As I headed up the stairs my bathroom light came on upstairs, and Dad met me at the top of the stairs, gun in hand!!!!  He said, "those were gunshots!" as he was running down the stairs.  I yelled to him, "where do you think you're going with a gun?"  He ran down, turned off the alarm, and out the back door, (just call him Rambo!).  When I got back downstairs, Lidia was standing in the entryway where it was light, when she heard he had a gun, she was afraid he would see her in the dark familyroom and shoot her, so she went to stand in the light.  (Smart girl!)  Within a minute the helicopter was overhead, the sirens were sounding, but we never saw anything.  Dad made his rounds of the backyard, came in and went back to bed.  Lidia and I sat in the family room back in the dark again, scared to death!  But Steve, no worry, he slept through it all!

My New Project

This is my attempt at container vegetable gardening.  I planted lettuce seeds at my enrichment preparedness group last night!  I am learning how to be self sufficient by gardening!  (Don't all laugh at once!)   I will keep you updated on the success of my lettuce!

OH, THE MEMORIES!

Yesterday I took Cami to preschool.  She showed me a pink CareBear in her purse that she took with her.  I told her that one time when her mom was a little girl she was a pink CareBear for Halloween, and Cami looked at me like I was crazy!  So, here is the visual proof Cami, see for yourself, your mom was a CareBear ( and so was your aunt!)   (Check out the homemade pumpkin candy bags, made at the ever crafty Relief Society homemaking night!)  The best part of these costumes was, when they got home they were already in their pj's!
